2 IN 5 EMPLOYERS EXPECT STAFF NUMBERS TO INCREASE

Research from Acas, the advisory, conciliation and arbitration service, has shown that 41% of British employers expect the size of their workforce to increase over the next twelve months.
YouGov was commissioned by Acas to ask British businesses if they believed staff numbers would fall, rise or remain steady. Only 7% of respondents expected number to decrease, 47% predicted numbers would remain unchanged and only 4% reported that they didn't know.
Susan Clews, Chief Executive at Acas commented "Many businesses experienced a challenging time due to the impact of COVID and the employees at those organisations may have felt that they faced an uncertain future... As we come out of the pandemic restrictions, it is very encouraging to see a turnaround with two in five employers expecting an increase in staff in the year ahead and nearly a half expecting no change."
