HEALTHCARE AND CARE JOB POSTINGS GROWTH OUTPACED OTHER OCCUPATIONS

Indeed has announced its collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF) and its “Future of Jobs” report. Indeed’s labor market insights, which can be found in the Future of Jobs report, shows that employer demand for workers in social-related sectors, such as healthcare, education, and others, have demonstrated noteworthy growth compared to all other job postings in the countries examined.

“Through our findings, it is clear that social sectors such as healthcare, education, and others are less dependent on consumer demand and are unlikely to waver due to macroeconomic headwinds. By increasing investments in these areas, economies around the world could fill these jobs faster and in turn improve societal wellbeing,” said Indeed Chief Economist Svenja Gudell.

Indeed notes that there is variation in growth between care, education, and healthcare job postings, depending on the country. Out of the 22 countries examined, social jobs have exhibited a faster growth rate compared to other occupations in 15 of them. A driving force behind this trend can be attributed to the accelerated expansion of Healthcare and Care jobs, which outpaced other occupations in 16 out of the 22 countries analyzed. This trend underscores the indispensable role that these occupations have played in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, Education jobs have grown at a faster pace than other jobs in 12 out of 20 countries. France, Ireland, and Belgium have experienced particularly robust growth in social jobs relative to other countries. Conversely, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, and India are among the 7 countries where job growth in social jobs has been slower than that of other occupations.
